A Look at Claud Butler Urban Bikes and Accessories

January 21, 2010

Biking is a great way to improve your health, save fuel costs, while aiding in keeping the air clean. Bicycling doesn’t impact your muscles in severe ways that jogging and using gym equipment can. Not only that, it’s practical as one is able to get exercise by biking to work, or doing the shopping, so it’s not like you’re having to make time for working out as virtually all other forms of workout enforce on your schedule.

Nonetheless, there are a myriad of various sorts of bike out there - what type would suit you? A bike that is comfortable for you as you’re biking, and has a good number of gears so you can tackle hills with relative ease - after all, we don’t all live in a completely flat area! One ought to also be able to pick up your bicycle with relative ease as you will find yourself needing to do so sometimes, for instance up a few stairs. Claud Butler urban bikes are a good range of bikes to start looking at.

Further more, make sure you purchase sufficient accessories for your cycle : front and back light, a pump, reflector lights, reflective jacket, mudguards, helmet and strong lock. Such cycle accessories help you stay safe at nighttime, and your bicycle out of reach from thieves. Make sure you lock the bike in a somewhat open place.

Finally, it’s a great idea to invest some time into studying how to fix your cycle. There’s no need to be an expert, but it’s useful if you can work out how to align your brake pads and brake cables as these frequently require fine-tuning following use. And make sure you keep the bicycle well lubricated with oil and the tyres pumped up to a reasonable pressure to make bicycling less effort. And of course, be sensible on the roads - indicate with your arms when turning, and stay on the left at all times.

Motor City Motors Video

December 28, 2009

There are new videos for the Discovery Channel’s nee reality TV show called Motor City Motors. The new show showcases the Detroit Bros, custom bike builders from… well Detroit of course. The new show begins tonight on the Discovery Channel, but you can see the Motor City Motors Saving the Shop video and others now.

There are several Motor City Motors videos already posted on the site, even though the show hasn’t aired yet. Season one of the show begins airing this evening at 10:00 pm ET on the Discovery Channel. While it seems like every show on the Discovery Channel is pretty fun to watch, opinion is all over the board with this new show. Some say it’s too much like the old Monster Garage show, while others say this will be a much better, more advanced version. Other still talk about the personalities, and of course that’s the real key for any reality TV show. If there are strong, interesting personalities, the show will usually work. If not, they don’t.

A perfect example is American Chopper, where the bikes clearly take a back seat to the personality conflicts between Paul Sr, Paul Jr, and Mikey. Everyone knows these guys are poser bikers, but the show still has decent ratings. Looking at the videos and trailers for Motor City Motors gives the impression that some interesting personalities and story lines could push this show into another Thom Beers hit.

While James and Dave Kaye are brothers, they’re quite different. One is business educated and mental, while the other is creative and laid back.

With all that said, here’s what I think is going to help this show succeed. The show takes place in Detroit, once the automotive manufacturing powerhouse of the United States. Since thousands upon thousands of jobs have been lost in the area over the last couple of decades, the city is in extremely bad shape. Motor City Motors will also invite other local mechanics, metal fabricators and machinists to contribute in the projects, and the light shed upon the city in pain could bring some much needed attention to whats going on there. When people less familiar with the destitute in the Detroit area, I think interest in the show will rise.

Americans love to watch the underdog succeed, and the Detroit Bros might be the next one they root for. We’ll find out, starting tonight on the Discovery Channel. In the mean time, follow that link above and watch a few Motor City Motors videos.

Mini Motos Mark I and Mark II

June 23, 2008

Mini Motos have been popular for sometime now in the UK with various type of models now available on the market range from the standard mini moto to ones with performance upgrades. These upgrades are things like K&N filter, sports exhausts, body styling and graphics, and some have boost bottles or NOS which really adds power to your mini moto.

As mini motos have developed an interesting myth has started to occur, which is ‘Mark I’ and ‘Mark II Bikes’. The ‘Mark’ of the bike is actually relatively immaterial. All it means is that it is the manufacturer who produce the bikes second generation model of the it; this does not necessarily mean that it is better than other manufacturers MkI’s as they can be the same model as its dependent on the manufacturer. Generally manufacturers who have been in the mini moto business from the beinging are now producing mark II or mark III mini motos.

There are many Manufacturers of Mini Motos and they all buy the bits to produce them from similar companies, so the bikes are generally largely similar in appearance. To get the best bike you should consider the individual mix of parts on the bike not the claimed Mark, as this does not really mean anything.

Daudbikes offer the latest mini motos, mini quads origami minimotos and spare parts see http://www.daudbikes.com for further information.
